In May 2013, author George Saunders delivered the commencement speech on the topic of kindness to the graduating class of Syracuse University. More recently, the speech has been released in a 64-page book version: Congratulations, by the way: Some Thoughts on Kindness. In coordination with the book’s release, the publisher also issued a brief but touching animated version of the speech, below.
